FOOTBALL
HISTORY
It doesn't have written
exact starting time of playing football in the history. No one is sure about
the starting date of football but surely football was started in medieval age
from Europe. It is mentioned that it was started in England, with laying down
of rules by the Football Association (FA) in 1863. On November 6, 1869, Rutgers
and Princeton played what was billed as the first college football game. Later
on the rugby player from Yale, Walter Camp, pioneered rules of football game in
American football, who is also known as the father of modern football.
It is also said
that football was the result of different wars, as the warriors used to cut
down the enemies' head and used to hit by their legs to control down their
anger. They used to kick the enemies' head from one place to another place. In
long run, as it mixed with rugby rules, football took its shape in history.
The football was
emerged in old Mesoamerican cultures for over 3,000 years ago. It was by the
Aztecs called "Tchatali", although various versions of the game over
spread over large regions. In some ritual occasions, the ball would symbolize
the sun and the captain of the losing team would be sacrificed to the gods. A
unique feature of the Mesoamerican ball game versions was a bouncing ball made
of rubber- no other early culture had access to rubber.
The first known
ball game which also involved kicking took place in China in the 3rd
and 2nd century BC under the name "cuju", Cuju was played
with around ball.(stitched leather fur or feathers inside) on an area of a
square. A modified form of this game later spread to Japan and was by the name
of "Kemari" practiced under ceremonial forms.
